Job summary

Zego is hiring a Lead Data Engineer to shape and evolve our data platform as a technical authority. You will build scalable, secure data systems and mentor peers across Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, and Product.

You'll drive data architecture, partner with cross-functional teams, and promote best practices in testing, CI/CD, observability, and IaC. Hybrid work in London/ Halifax with quarterly company-wide gatherings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Data Engineer in scalable data platforms.
• Design, build and operate ETL/ELT pipelines and large data architectures.
• Hands-on with modern data stack including Python, SQL, Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, Spark.
• Experience with AWS, Docker and Terraform (and related tools).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the Data Engineering team.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure data pipelines and warehouses.
• Collaborate with analytics, data science, and product teams to meet analytics needs.
