Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to shape and lead the Security Data and AI lab's data engineering capability. This senior role blends technical leadership with strategic direction across a complex enterprise.

You will own data pipelines, embed secure-by-design principles and collaborate across Security, Cloud, Architecture and Product teams while mentoring engineers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading technical delivery and mentoring engineers in senior/lead roles.
• Experience designing, building and operating scalable data platforms and pipelines.
• Experience with cloud-native data platforms across Azure, AWS, GCP or similar enterprise environments.
• Deep understanding of data modelling, data quality, metadata, lineage and governance.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the data engineering strategy and roadmap for the Lab.
• Own scalable data pipelines and secure-by-design data foundations for AI/ML/analytics.
• Mentor engineers and shape a high-performing engineering culture.
• Partner with Security, Cloud, Architecture and Product teams to deliver outcomes.
