Job summary

Hitachi Solutions Europe Limited is seeking a senior Delivery Director to lead large-scale digital, data and cloud transformation programmes across clients. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, align with client executives, and drive governance and quality across projects.

The role emphasizes strategic oversight, risk mitigation, and ensuring successful delivery, with regular office engagement and collaboration with customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Represent the Delivery Team in strategic client meetings and governance discussions.

• Assess and validate complex project plans using Hitachi’s Consensus methodology.
• Advise senior client staff on governance and risk best practices.
• Lead conflict resolution and coordinate with the Hitachi Executive team.
• Own internal delivery processes and drive improvements within the team.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the strategic engagement on projects of any scale with client executive stakeholders.
• Responsible for identifying strategic risks to projects and overseeing their mitigation.
• Responsible for overseeing and ensuring the appropriate quality of all work orders and change requests relating to their projects, as well as suggesting enhancements where these fall short of enabling the document to operate as a firm foundation for the project.
• Responsible for the approval of project deliverables, including forecasts, timesheet management, PSRs, etc., and is able to challenge the content of these in instances where consistency, accuracy, and completeness are compromised.
• Represents the Hitachi Solutions Delivery Team in strategic prospect meetings, where discussions cover governance best practice, strategic and business risk, amongst other topics.
• Responsible for articulating the content of reports to client executives, proactively identifying and communicating key messages and implications.
• Responsible for assessing and validating complex project plans based on Hitachi’s Consensus methodology, including the necessary deliverables. Able to articulate the benefits and structure of Consensus to both internal and client teams, champion best practice governance, and identify candidate areas for improvement or development of Consensus.
• Acts as a key player in client C-level relationships, able to inform and advise senior client staff on best practice, risk mitigation, and strategic challenges.
• Responsible for leading the resolution of conflict situations, while recognising when it is necessary to call on the support of the Hitachi Executive team.
• Project Directors are recognised for their ability to own other internal Hitachi processes (Work Order approval, Change Request approval, etc.) when necessary and when requested by the Head of Delivery, and are expected to lead and direct initiatives and improvements within the delivery team.

Qualifications

• Effectively manages large and diverse teams, while carrying additional Hitachi business leadership accountabilities.
• Extensive experience delivering and leading large-scale, multi-million-pound business applications, digital, cloud, ERP, and data transformation programmes within complex organisational environments.
• Experience delivering programmes using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, ideally in both the public and private sectors.
• Provides support and guidance to senior personnel, engaging Senior Management and HR where appropriate.
• Significant, demonstrable experience in managing large-scale business applications programmes and projects across a range of industries.
• Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining relationships with senior executives within both Hitachi and client organisations.
• High levels of business acumen, and commercial astuteness.
