Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a DC Project Lead Engineer to manage on-site delivery of data centre installations and field services. You will lead a small engineering team, coordinate with clients, carriers and colleagues, and ensure high standards of service and safety.

Responsibilities include installing and decommissioning data centre equipment, testing cabling, and mentoring junior staff while maintaining project timelines and quality. Proximity to London and a valid driving license are required.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in technical client support.
• Strong leadership managing staff for first-time-right deployments.
• Knowledge of data cabling infrastructure, testing and standards.
• Understanding of network routing and switching.
• Entry-level experience with remote collaboration technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead a site installation team for DC operations and field service engagements as the client’s primary contact, ensuring high-quality delivery.
• Install and decommission data centre network, server, storage, and telecom equipment.
• Provide cabling tests and installations between devices, fibre and copper.
• Ensure infrastructure is configured and tested per client requirements.
• Liaise with client, carriers and colleagues to expedite delivery and resolve issues.
• Provide guidance, mentoring and training to junior team members.
• Maintain quality by sharing standards and conducting toolbox talks and site briefings.
• Monitor progress and ensure work meets quality standards.
• Follow handover procedures to ensure service continuity.
