Job summary

BAE Systems in Samlesbury is seeking a Lead Data Analyst/Project Controller to translate complex project data into actionable insights across a diverse contract portfolio. The role combines analytics with project controls work, supporting decision-making and reporting.

You will analyse EVM data, maintain PMB, develop datasets for CAMs, produce monthly and quarterly reports, and collaborate with engineering and bids. Hybrid work with three days on site, salary around £59,491 plus DOE.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in data analysis within projects or complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and adherence to EIA-748.
• Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables, formulas, data modelling.
• Ability to translate datasets into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders.
• High attention to data quality and traceability.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and maintain EVM data and identify trends.
• Maintain PMB and ensure EIA-748 adherence.
• Develop and validate high-quality datasets for CAMs and work package leads.
• Produce monthly and quarterly contract performance reports with clear insights.
• Support bids by ensuring data consistency and auditability from bid to PMB.
• Identify risks and opportunities through data analysis and support mitigation.
• Support contract mobilisation and PMB setup.

You ll play a key role in translating complex project and contract information into clear, actionable insights. This creates a highly diverse and challenging environment, giving you the opportunity to work across a broad portfolio and gain exposure to a wide range of projects.

• Analysing and maintaining Earned Value Management (EVM) data, including identifying trends, diagnosing data issues, and supporting corrective actions
• Ensure the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) is maintained along with adherence to EIA-748
• Developing, validating, and maintaining high quality datasets to support Control Account Managers (CAMs) and work package leads
• Producing monthly and quarterly contract performance reports, translating technical and financial data into clear insights for business and contract owner reviews
• Working with the USP Engineering Project Controls Manager to provide an aggregated, data driven view of engineering performance across the wider contracting landscape
• Supporting bids by ensuring data consistency, traceability, and auditability from bid submission through to Performance Management Baseline (PMB) definition
• Identifying emerging risks and opportunities through data analysis and highlighting them early to support mitigation or value realisation
• Ensure smooth contract mobilisation and PMB setup

Essential Skills:

• Proven experience in data analysis within a project, engineering, or complex operational environment
• Good working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and/or project management data along with strong knowledge of EIA-748 adherence
• Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data modelling, and analysis
• Ability to translate complex datasets into clear insights, visualisations, and recommendations for non-technical stakeholders
• High attention to detail with a strong focus on data quality, consistency, and traceability

The US Programmes Engineering Project Control team:

You ll be working on F-35 contracts across all 4 delivery stream: production, sustainment, development, and growth, where engineering input is critical. In this role, you ll collaborate closely with project controls and engineering stakeholders to ensure leadership has access to accurate, timely data that supports effective decision-making across a diverse and complex contract portfolio.
