Job summary

Altech Group Ltd in Lancashire is hiring a Lead Data & AI Engineer to own a group-wide Microsoft Fabric platform, merging data from core systems for reliable decision-making. This hands-on role shapes architecture, delivery, and the data function's future direction.

You'll work with senior stakeholders, establish governance, and drive self-service analytics and AI-enabled insights across international entities.

Qualifications

Experience designing and building a data platform from scratch.
Strong SQL and Python or PySpark skills.
Hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience essential; Databricks helpful.
Strong Power BI semantic modelling and DAX skills.

Responsibilities

Design, build and run a Microsoft Fabric platform with data pipelines and costs.
Integrate ERP, CRM, HR and other systems across entities.
Collaborate with senior leaders to define requirements and backlog.
Develop shared Power BI semantic models and KPI definitions.
Establish data quality, ownership, security and access standards.
Set up source control, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring and docs.
Prepare datasets for conversational AI and AI-assisted insights.
Support self-service analytics and future data team growth.
