Job summary

Standard Bank Offshore, the offshore arm of Standard Bank Group, is seeking an experienced Credit Manager to assess lending applications with robust risk analysis. You will work with stakeholders to guide prudent lending decisions and contribute to growing an asset portfolio within risk appetite.

The role requires ~10 years in credit risk, strong analytical and leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of Basel and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years' experience in credit risk management within banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of corporate credit risk, lending products and credit documentation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of credit policies, risk frameworks, Basel requirements and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate lending applications through robust credit risk assessment and affordability analysis.
• Provide expert credit guidance and prudent lending decisions to support asset book growth.
• Identify growth opportunities while ensuring lending decisions stay within risk appetite and regulatory framework.
• Maintain a high-quality credit portfolio and monitor covenants and drawdown controls.
