Ground Control is seeking an experienced CP Lead Drilling Operative to lead safe, efficient drilling on site in the United Kingdom. You will operate and maintain rotary drilling rigs, supervise on-site drilling teams, prepare sites, and ensure precise sampling, logging, and data recording.
The role requires proven CP drilling and ground investigation experience, strong drilling technique knowledge, and a valid UK driving licence.
Qualifications
- Proven CP drilling and ground investigations experience.
- Strong knowledge of drilling techniques and geotechnical sampling.
- Experience supervising site teams.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Ability to work on infrastructure or construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain rotary drilling rigs for ground investigations.
- Lead and supervise on-site drilling teams.
- Prepare sites and carry out open-hole, core, and rock coring works.
- Ensure accurate sampling, logging, and data recording.
- Maintain equipment and report maintenance issues.
- Act as on-site representative and provide progress updates to management.
- Deliver drilling works safely, on time, and to specification.
- Allocate daily tasks and mentor less experienced operatives.
- Ensure full HSE, CDM, and RAMS compliance.
- Lead toolbox talks and site safety briefings.
- Maintain high standards of quality, professionalism, and client satisfaction.
