Job summary

Granite Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Lead Cost Estimator for our Aberdeen/Dyce location to spearhead cost estimates across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning. You will coordinate inputs from multidisciplinary teams, evaluate supplier quotations and drive cost modelling, benchmarking and risk analysis.

The role requires senior-level estimating experience, a proven ability to lead and mentor a team, and development of estimating processes and cost standards.

Qualifications

• Senior-level cost estimating experience across large-scale engineering/construction projects.
• Proven experience leading and developing a team.
• Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Cost Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong commercial awareness, analytical skills and attention to detail.
• RICS or AACE/CCP membership would be advantageous.

Are you an experienced Cost Estimator ready to take the lead on major engineering and construction projects?

We’re looking for a Lead Cost Estimator to drive estimating strategy, deliver competitive project estimates and support key commercial decisions across a growing engineering group.

The Role:

• Lead cost estimates across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Coordinate inputs from multidisciplinary teams and evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotations.
• Manage cost modelling, benchmarking, risk analysis and contingency planning.
• Develop estimating processes, databases and cost standards.
• Lead, mentor and develop estimating team members.
• Support tender submissions, project controls and commercial performance.

What We’re Looking For:

• Senior-level cost estimating experience, ideally across large-scale engineering and construction projects.
• Proven experience leading and developing a team.
• Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Cost Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong commercial awareness, analytical skills and attention to detail.

Location: Aberdeen (with travel to other group locations)

Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week. Hybrid working available
