Job summary

J.P. Morgan seeks a Lead Software Engineer for the Equities Derivatives Front Office Flow Technology Team in London. You will drive automation, onboard new products, and extend connectivity with external vendors to enhance flow and trading workflows.

You will lead technical delivery across Java services, UI with C#/WPF and ReactJS, and cloud-based scalable solutions. Expect collaboration across global teams, strong emphasis on AI-assisted development, secure coding, and rapid delivery.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience in Java
• Strong OO design skills with good knowledge of object modelling and design patterns
• Experience with development, deployment and maintenance of commercial service oriented application(s)
• Disciplined approach to code management, testing and deployment practices and high quality delivery
• Understanding of how to effectively utilize unit testing
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations

Responsibilities

• Work with subject matter experts to develop solutions that meet business requirements
• Develop Java Services integrated in the end to end processing of the derivative products
• Build C#/WPF and JavaScript front-end desktop applications to interface with the Java services
• Build a stable, efficient, scalable cloud based solution which will be deployed globally
• Design and code a significant amount of a robust, secure and efficient API to persist / retrieve data and implement the business logic
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes
• Apply knowledge of SDLC tools and AI-assisted development to improve automation value
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge with team
