Job summary

Fluence, a global leader in energy storage and optimization software, seeks a Senior Controls Engineer – Services in the UK to lead BESS control activities during operations. You will ensure grid code compliance, manage software lifecycles, and drive improvements across projects in EMEA.

In this role you will collaborate with Field Service Engineers and cross-functional teams to deploy upgrades, analyze performance data, and resolve complex control issues while maintaining thorough change

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Minimum 3 years of controls, software, or automation experience in power/energy sectors.
• Strong knowledge of grid codes, EMS, and grid services applications.
• Experience with control algorithms for grid-connected systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead controls activities across BESS projects during operations.
• Serve as primary controls SME for customers and internal teams.
• Coordinate software/firmware upgrades and testing.
• Perform root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain documentation for releases and configurations.
