Job summary

Capula Ltd, part of the Dalkia Group, seeks a Lead Control Systems Engineer to drive the technical delivery of IEC 61850-based Substation Control Systems projects across UK transmission and distribution networks.

You will lead architectures, configure COPA-DATA Zenon SCADA, and coordinate interfaces across protection, cybersecurity and network domains, while mentoring engineers and promoting engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end technical delivery of Substation Control Systems projects.
• Develop robust architectures and designs based on IEC 61850 standards.
• Lead the configuration and integration of COPA-DATA Zenon SCADA.
• Manage technical interfaces across protection, control, electrical, cybersecurity and network disciplines.
• Drive testing, FAT, commissioning support and customer acceptance activities.
• Mentor and develop engineers while promoting engineering excellence.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Lead Control Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership on complex IEC 61850-based Substation Control Systems projects.

What you'll be doing:

• Leading the end-to-end technical delivery of Substation Control Systems projects
• Developing robust architectures and detailed designs based on IEC 61850 standards
• Leading the configuration and integration of COPA-DATA Zenon SCADA
• Managing technical interfaces across protection, control, electrical, cybersecurity and network disciplines
• Driving testing, FAT, commissioning support and customer acceptance activities
• Mentoring and developing engineers while promoting engineering excellence and best practice

We're looking for engineers with:

• Strong experience delivering complex Control Systems or Operational Technology projects
• Proven technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Knowledge of engineering lifecycle management, configuration control and cybersecurity principles
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and customer-facing skills
• Willingness to travel to customer and substation sites when required
• COPA-DATA Zenon SCADA configuration and deployment
• Protection IEDs, BCUs, RTUs and gateway integration
• Industrial networking, IEC 60870-5-101/104, DNP3 and resilient network architectures
• Knowledge of IEC 62443 and OT cybersecurity principles
• Support towards IEng/CEng and professional membership funding
