Job summary

Hywel Dda University Health Board seeks a Consultant Psychiatrist in Learning Disabilities for Carmarthen. Lead assessments, diagnoses and management of patients with learning disabilities and mental health needs, and take ongoing clinical responsibility for those under your care.

The role includes on-call duties, service development, and collaboration with health, social care and third-sector partners. Teaching, training and professional development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Lead assessment, diagnosis and management of learning disabilities patients.
• Take continuing clinical responsibility for patients under care.
• Participate in consultant on-call rota and provide senior clinical support in and out of hours.
• Contribute to development and transformation of Learning Disability services.
• Support partnerships across health, social care and third-sector organisations.
• Provide expert advice to colleagues, carers, families and partner agencies.
• Contribute to teaching, training and professional development within the organisation.
• Undertake comprehensive psychiatric assessments and manage complex presentations.
• Formulate and implement treatment plans, monitor progress and ensure person-centred care.
