Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Consultant to drive major multidisciplinary property and buildings projects. You will coordinate client interfaces, lead a wider consultant team from inception to completion, and shape project delivery with NEC contract expertise.

The role emphasises proactive leadership, collaboration, risk management, and delivering integrated design solutions across sectors, with flexible office locations and occasional regional travel.

Qualifications

• An architectural or engineering degree.
• Membership of a relevant Professional Institution.
• Experience of leading complex multidisciplinary projects with a working understanding of NEC contract management, client management and stakeholder management.
• The drive to lead the design and delivery of major projects.
• Demonstrated collaborative behaviours, ethics and promote health, safety and wellbeing within the team.
• You must be eligible to achieve Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

A little more about the role..

As our business grows we are securing a significant increase in long-term contracts for property projects across multiple sectors where we are the prime contracting entity. As a result, the development of a team of Lead Consultants is a key function for managing our WSP major multi-disciplinary projects within property and buildings (P&B). As our projects grow in size and complexity we need Lead Consultants with experience of:

• Acting as the Client's main point of contact.

• Design in a wide range of sectors, with a detailed knowledge in at least one.

These are senior project roles, to drive and lead key design projects from inception to completion. It is about driving engagement from our teams and transforming how we work with Clients and partners to deliver our services on key projects so that we design and deliver projects that are co-ordinated, collaborative and integrated. To support this growing portfolio of work we are looking to strengthen our capabilities in Lead Consultant Services through a number of talented individuals who specialise in this leadership role and will thrive in this type of environment.

It is anticipated that the role will be a minimum of 85% utilisation on projects.

• You will be influential in shaping the strategic direction of our future project management strategies and solutions.

• The role will report to the head of Lead Consultant Services.
• The main office location is flexible, with some expectation to travel occasionally to regional offices as the team and workload expand.
• This is a unique role allowing the successful candidate to work on live major projects within our business unit.
