Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Anaesthetist to cover general and elective anaesthesia and a chronic pain service. You will work within a busy MDT, providing high-quality clinical care across multiple surgical specialities and outpatient pain clinics.

The role involves a 10 PA contract with on-call and core SPA elements, in a site serving the Fylde Coast. The post is open to applicants with FRCA or equivalent and full GMC registration.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and teaching abilities within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication with patients, families and colleagues.
• Experience in anaesthesia and chronic pain management.
• Commitment to CPD and clinical governance.

Responsibilities

• Cover 10 PA contract with on-call components.
• Deliver general/elective anaesthesia and outpatient chronic pain services.
• Operate across ENT, head/neck, dental, ophthalmology, trauma and other surgical lists.
• Participate in MDT activities and service development.
• On-call duties with appropriate supervision and handover.
