Job summary

Hunter Philips Executive Search is seeking a Project Construction Manager to lead live utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects in the UK. You will own on-site delivery, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and drive safety, quality and programme performance from mobilisation through handover.

The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, with preference for BESS experience, strong stakeholder management, and full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
• Experience with Battery Energy Storage (BESS) is desirable.
• Experience managing multiple subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of UK construction regulations.
• SMSTS and CSCS Black Card (or eligibility).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel and remain site-based throughout project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Taking overall responsibility for day-to-day delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects.
• Leading site teams throughout the construction phase.
• Coordinating specialist contractors across multiple work packages.
• Working alongside engineering and project management teams to overcome technical and programme challenges.
• Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and construction performance.
• Reviewing progress against programme and implementing solutions where required.
• Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
• Supporting projects through commissioning and final handover.
