Job Description:

Lead Configuration Engineer

• Initial 6 months (12 months + project)
• Luton (1 day p/w on site)

We are pushing the technical boundaries associated with advanced tactical sensing, data fusion, communications, machine learning, and defensive aids systems. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to play a fundamental role in our Business execution as a Lead Configuration Engineer supporting our Combat Air Sector.

As a Lead of a Configuration & Data Management team, you are expected:

• To drive a proactive approach into IPTs
• To create a culture encouraging new ideas and innovative solutions within the IPT and LoB
• To manage the team to deliver agreed work packages into the IPT on time and within budget
• To act as a coach and mentor

As an individual, you are expected:

• To resolve C&DM issues within an IPT by proposing and implementing solutions
• To provide a C&DM Basis of Estimate (BoE) for work packages
• To build and manage customer and supplier relationships
• To demonstrate self-management and the development of self and others
• To contribute to Business-wide Process Improvement initiatives with C&DM input
• To provide C&DM training across disciplines within an IPT as needed
• To develop and promote the use of PLM and related engineering tools

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required:

• A good understanding of Configuration Management per DEF STAN 05-57
• Excellent practical knowledge of the five key elements of Configuration Management: Planning, Identification, Change Management, Status Accounting, and Audit/Verification
• Experience with CM2 methodology (desired)
• Configuration Management experience in safety-critical product development
• Experience with Product Management Tools (essential) - Teamcenter v13 (Unified) and SAP (desired)
• Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and logical thinking
