Job summary

GTS group are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Lead to head the Manufacturing Engineering and Tooling function in our Gloucestershire production facility. This hands-on leadership role blends technical engineering with team management, process development and production support.

Candidates should have 5+ years in manufacturing engineering within production/NPI, 3+ years leading a technical team, and strong experience in composite manufacturing, PFMEA/APQP, and AS9100.

Qualifications

• Degree in Manufacturing or related discipline.
• 5+ years' Manufacturing Engineering experience within production, NPI or industrialisation.
• 3+ years' experience leading or managing a technical team.
• Strong practical experience of composite manufacturing and processing.
• Experience with PFMEA, APQP, root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Understanding of AS9100 and quality standards within aerospace or advanced manufacturing.
• SolidWorks CAD experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Manufacturing Engineering and Tooling team.
• Manage manufacturing engineering activities across production and NPI.
• Develop Methods of Manufacture, routings, BoMs, work instructions and process documentation.
• Take new products from Design through to production, ensuring manufacturing readiness.
• Support tooling, fixtures and equipment development.
• Support PFMEA, APQP, Control Plans and PPAP/FAIR activities.
• Identify and resolve manufacturing and quality issues through structured root cause analysis.
• Drive continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and production efficiency.
• Support quotations, manufacturing methods, tooling requirements and costings.
• Work closely with Operations, Quality, Design Engineering and Supply Chain.
• Develop team capability through training, skills matrices and standardised processes.
