Job summary

Sora Aviation, based in Bristol, is seeking an experienced design engineer to design the composite airframe for the S-1. You will lead detailed design and CAD modelling for primary and secondary structures and support tooling, manufacturing and integration of systems on the airframe.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, knowledge of composite design and tooling, and strong CAD skills (3DEXPERIENCE). On-site in Bristol with a focus on innovative structural solutions.

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
Knowledge of composite part design principles, tooling and manufacturing processes.
Ability to apply inventive thinking to solve complex structural design challenges.

Responsibilities

Lead detailed design and CAD modelling of primary and secondary airframe structures.
Support tooling and manufacturing design of prototype components for flight test aircraft.
Support integration of mechanical, electrical and thermal systems onto the S-1 airframe.
Support design of other airframe assemblies such as landing gear and nacelles.
