Job summary

NHS Jobs is seeking a Clinical Specialist Doctor in Community Child Health to join a multi-disciplinary team delivering holistic care to children with developmental disorders and complex health needs. The role includes regular outpatient clinics for Children in Care and neuro-developmental referrals, plus time for administration and governance reviewed with GMC revalidation processes.

Responsibilities

• Regular outpatient clinics for the statutory Initial Health Assessments of Children in Care.
• Outpatient clinics for children referred for neuro-developmental concerns.
• Time for admin aligned with outpatient clinics as per Coram BAAF and BAoM standards.
• Participate in departmental governance and annual appraisals for GMC revalidation.
• Liaise with Primary Care, Education for SEND assessments, and Social Care in care delivery.
• Collaborate with Specialist Community Nurses, Paediatric therapists, child psychologists, and Looked After Nurses.
• Support safeguarding duties per local procedures and Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023).
• Engage with 0-25 health visiting and school nursing teams, CAMHS, Education, and Social Care.
• Maintain links with tertiary neurology services and regional genetics service for outreach clinics.
• Provide training opportunities for postgraduate and undergraduate trainees within the department.
