Job summary

United Infrastructure is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial delivery on complex gas projects. You will manage cost control, valuations, cash flow, and subcontract procurement while maintaining strong client and partner relationships.

Key skills include NEC3/4 contract experience, negotiation, and data analysis. The role requires a BSc in Quantity Surveying and at least five years’ experience in commercial roles within heavy civils or gas infrastructure, with a driving licence.

Qualifications

• BSc in Quantity Surveying or related field is required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in quantity surveying.
• Membership with a professional body (e.g. RICS) is preferable.
• Established background in commercial roles, preferably in gas pipelines or heavy civils.
• Strong NEC3/4 experience and solid legal/contractual acumen.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial delivery of gas projects in line with contractual and client requirements.
• Own cost control, valuations, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Procurement and performance management of subcontractors and suppliers; negotiate packages and final accounts.
• Ensure timely submission and agreement of client valuations, variations, and compensation events.
• Oversee risk management processes and support dispute resolution.
• Provide commercial guidance to operations and project teams to meet budget and KPI targets.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders.
• Support bids and work-winning activities where needed.
• Mentor junior surveyors and drive continuous improvements in process and performance.
