Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset (UHD) in Poole seeks an experienced, accredited Lead Nurse Colposcopist to join our Women’s Health Team. You will lead colposcopy services across UHD and serve as Cervical Sample Practitioner Lead (CSPL), guiding cervical screening quality and workforce development.

You will manage an advanced clinical caseload with autonomous assessment and treatment, aligned with national cervical screening standards and evidence-based practice. Interview on 20th November.

Qualifications

• Registered with the NMC to practice in the UK.
• Certified Colposcopist with the British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSSCP).
• Master's degree in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent.
• Leadership or management qualification.
• Non medical prescriber.

Responsibilities

• Provide autonomous colposcopy assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for referred women.
• Be the CSPL lead for the colposcopy service at UHD.
• Lead development and continuous improvement of the Colposcopy Service across UHD.
• Collaborate with consultants, nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams.
• Lead governance, audit, QA, and service evaluation activities.
• Support education and development of staff.
• Contribute to business planning and service redesign.
• Participate in local, regional and national colposcopy networks.
