Job summary

Colchester United Community Foundation (CUCF) is seeking a passionate U7 Lead Coach for the 2026/2027 season to join the Boys Development Centre. You will deliver engaging sessions on Monday evenings in Tiptree, Essex, helping young players develop technical skills, confidence and a love of the game within Colchester United's player pathway.

The role requires DBS clearance, suitable references, and a commitment to the development journey for players aged 6 to 16, with past grassroots experience

Qualifications

• Experience coaching grassroots football with children.
• Available Monday evenings (4.15pm–6.00pm) for training in Tiptree, Essex.
• DBS checks and satisfactory references required.

Responsibilities

• Lead coaching sessions for U7 players within the Boys Development Centre.
• Support technical development, confidence and love of the game.
• Collaborate with Colchester United Academy pathway staff.

Are you an experienced grassroots football coach looking for your next challenge?

Colchester United Community Foundation (CUCF) is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic U7 Lead Coach to join our Boys Development Centre for the 2026/2027 season.

CUCF delivers high-quality participation, health and inclusion, and education programmes to over 9,000 children, young people, and adults across the region each week. The Boys Development Centre (U6–U16) plays a key role in supporting the Colchester United Academy—one of only two League Two clubs in England to hold Category 2 status—by providing a structured talent pathway for players within the local community.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a coach who enjoys working with young players and wants to develop their own coaching journey within the Colchester United player pathway.

You may currently be coaching your child’s grassroots team, working within a local grassroots club, or already have experience in a football development environment. Whatever your background, if you are passionate about helping young players develop, creating positive experiences and delivering engaging football sessions, we would love to hear from you.

The Boys Development Centre provides a structured development environment for players aged U6–U16, supporting the wider Colchester United Academy pathway. As a U7 Lead Coach, you will play an important role in creating the foundations for players' technical development, confidence, creativity, and love of the game.
