Job summary

Bestway Group is seeking a hands-on Lead Application Architect to own application-level design, set engineering standards and lead AI-assisted development across the team. You will bridge Solution Architects and developers, turning high-level designs into detailed, secure, and maintainable implementations.

Qualifications

• Significant software engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Proven ability to design applications at component and code level with ADRs.
• Experience in Azure cloud-native architectures and containerisation.
• CI/CD experience using Docker and GitHub Actions.
• Strong REST API design and OAuth2/OpenID Connect knowledge.
• Commitment to automated testing and testing standards.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants.

Responsibilities

• Application & low-level design: translate HLDs into clear implementations.
• Architecture governance: ADRs, design reviews, TDA alignment.
• Engineering standards: define Java coding standards and security-first practices.
• AI-assisted development: guidelines for AI tools across the SDLC.
• Cloud-native modernisation: move to Azure Container Apps with reusable references.
• Mentorship: coach juniors and foster engineering excellence.
• Quality: embed automated testing into the delivery pipeline.
