Job summary

The Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Lead Clinical Scientist in Treatment Planning to join the Northern Centre for Cancer Care (NCCC) at the Freeman Hospital. The role is based primarily at Freeman Hospital with occasional work in Carlisle and is 37.5 hours per week with flexible working arrangements.

You will lead complex treatment planning, mentor 26 treatment planners, and drive innovations in reirradiation pathways, MR-only planning, and adaptive radiotherapy

Qualifications

• Registered Clinical Scientist with radiotherapy MPE required.
• Experience leading treatment planning teams in radiotherapy.
• Strong background in adaptive radiotherapy and QA.
• Experience with reirradiation planning and EQD2 optimisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor 26 treatment planners.
• Develop reirradiation pathways.
• Advance MR-only planning and adaptive radiotherapy in clinical practice.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across disciplines.
