Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist - Surgical Services

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced clinical pharmacist to join the esteemed surgical team at ESNEFT. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and self-motivated pharmacist to lead pharmacy services for specialist surgical patients at Ipswich Hospital.

Position Details:

  • Band 8a role, but Band 7 pharmacists in a developmental program are also encouraged to apply.
  • Focus on developing clinical services within surgical specialties including dermatology, ophthalmology, ENT, and rheumatology.
  • Be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team within surgery and contribute to the homecare team for surgical and rheumatology patients.
  • Support pharmacy parenteral nutrition services and participate in the multidisciplinary nutrition team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to embed medicines optimisation strategies in surgical practice, minimizing waste and managing high-cost medicines.
  2. Provide advanced clinical pharmacy services to specialist surgical patients, adhering to KPIs and clinical standards.
  3. Support and guide pharmacy colleagues within surgery.
  4. Develop clinical pharmacy input into surgical services and provide departmental leadership.
  5. Serve as a specialist in parenteral nutrition services, following local and national standards.
  6. Work closely with the principal and divisional pharmacists on high-cost drugs and take a leading role in homecare services for rheumatology and surgical patients.
