Job summary

GSK is seeking a Head of Clinical Operations for the UK & Associated Countries to lead the delivery of pharma and vaccine trials across development stages. You will oversee clinical operations, monitor CROs, and ensure quality, speed, and compliance within the country scope.

The role requires 10+ years in regulated clinical operations, strong leadership, and a strategic, data-driven mindset to modernise processes while collaborating with global teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical R&D or related industry experience.
• Demonstrated leadership in regulated clinical operations.
• Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP and clinical development processes.
• Effective communication skills to influence at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for execution and delivery of clinical studies across therapy areas in the primary country and assigned additional countries.
• Provide senior leadership and people management for Clinical Operations teams across the defined country scope.
• Translate R&D and strategy into executable country-level plans aligned to portfolio needs.
• Provide clinical monitoring oversight, including oversight of studies executed by CROs.
• Maintain understanding of local healthcare environments, regulatory landscapes, and operational realities.
• Engage and influence internal and external stakeholders to enable successful delivery.
• Own operational and financial accountability for clinical operations budgets across the primary and assigned countries.
• Drive continuous improvement and efficiency through implementation of new processes and best practices.
