Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. seeks a Clinical Director (Principal Scientist) to lead planning and directing clinical research in Early Oncology, spanning pre-clinical to post-licensure.

The role covers study design, initiation, execution, monitoring, analysis, regulatory reporting, and publication for investigational or marketed medicines. The position requires MD or MD/PhD with 3+ years clinical medicine and 1+ year industry drug development experience.

Qualifications

• MD or MD/PhD required.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical medicine experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of industry experience in drug development or biomedical research.
• Proven track record in clinical medicine and biomedical research.

Responsibilities

• Plan clinical trials and operational plans aligned with the development strategy.
• Provide medical oversight and conduct of ongoing or new clinical trials.
• Analyze and summarize clinical findings to support decision making for safety, efficacy, and regulatory submissions.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams to develop new compounds and support marketed drugs.
