We’re looking for people with clinical experience to join our brilliant DWP Health Policy team.
As a Medical Professional within DHSD, you will have the opportunity to work at the heart of policy making within the Department, working closely with senior officials and Ministers in DWP advising on medical and health related issues that impact the lives of millions of customers.
With a talented team of clinicians, you will improve the experience and outcomes for millions of vulnerable people who interact with public services at critical times in their lives.
Lead Clinical Author:
An expert in disability assessment for WCA, PIP, IIDB and / or DLA child with education expertise.
You will lead and manage a team of clinical educators, ensuring the work they produce is of a high quality and in line with best evidence and DWP policy intent working with the education lead to ensure timelines are met and quality standards are maintained.
Responsibilities will include:
Clinical Policy Educator:
An expert in disability assessment for WCA, PIP, IIDB and/or DLA child with education or policy expertise.
You will ensure that new education material written for DWP clinical assessors and decision makers is in line with DWP policy intent, that the external quality assurance was undertaken accurately and the material is fit for release for use.

Successful candidates will be entitled to a generous Civil Service Pension Scheme (with employer contributions worth 27.9% – 30.3% of salary), indemnity insurance cover for their work within DWP, and professional regulatory body fees reimbursed.
