Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an experienced Civil Section Engineer for a permanent role within a leading water sector contractor. The position focuses on strengthening construction and project delivery teams on AMP8 framework activities with United Utilities.

You will lead setting-out, surveying, and technical queries, while mentoring site teams and coordinating with Temporary Works to ensure safety and compliance on major projects.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience as a Site/Section Engineer within civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of design information, tolerances and construction standards.
• Proficiency in method statements, risk assessments and quality documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering control for an area of works, ensuring accurate setting-out, surveying, and dimensional control.
• Interpret design information, identify inconsistencies, and raise technical queries with clear, solution-driven proposals.
• Establish and maintain primary control points, ensuring protection, verification, and compliance with project tolerances.
• Oversee as-built surveys, engineering checks, and verification activities.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to Site Engineers, Graduates, and Apprentices.
• Collaborate with Temporary Works teams to ensure temporary works requirements are clearly defined and safely executed.
