Zusammenfassung

Matchtech is seeking a Civil Section Engineer for a permanent role with a leading integrated design and build provider in the water sector, based in Manchester. The position is aligned with the AMP8 Framework Agreement with United Utilities, focusing on strengthening Construction and Project delivery teams.

You will lead setting-out, surveying, and engineering control, and provide technical guidance to Site Engineers, Graduates, and Apprentices. Knowledge of BIM and temporary works is essential.

Qualifikationen

• HNC/HND or degree in civil engineering.
• Experience as a Site/Section Engineer on civil/infrastructure projects.
• Strong competence in setting-out, surveying and engineering control.
• Understanding of specifications, standards and tolerances.
• Proficiency in method statements, risk assessments and quality documentation.
• Knowledge of CDM, construction safety and site procedures.
• CSCS card and SMSTS/IOSH qualification.
• Full UK driving licence.
• TWS qualification or working towards.
• Experience in major projects or Tier 1 environments.
• Knowledge of BIM and digital assurance systems.

• Interpret design information, identify inconsistencies, and raise technical queries with clear, solution-driven proposals.
• Establish and maintain primary control points, ensuring protection, verification, and compliance with project tolerances.
• Oversee as-built surveys, engineering checks, and verification activities.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to Site Engineers, Graduates, and Apprentices.
• Collaborate with Temporary Works teams to ensure temporary works requirements are clearly defined and safely executed.

• Establish and maintain primary control points, ensuring protection, verification, and compliance with project tolerances.
• Oversee as‑built surveys, engineering checks, and verification activities.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to Site Engineers, Graduates, and Apprentices.
• Collaborate with Temporary Works teams to ensure temporary works requirements are clearly defined and safely executed.

Job Requirements:

• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering
• Experience as a Site / Section Engineer within civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong competence in setting‑out, surveying, and engineering control.
• Understanding of specifications, standards, and construction tolerances.
• Proficiency in producing method statements, risk assessments, and quality documentation.
• Knowledge of CDM, construction safety, and site procedures.
• CSCS card (appropriate level) and SMSTS/IOSH qualification.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) qualification or working towards.
• Experience in major projects or Tier 1 contractor environments.
• Knowledge of BIM and digital assurance systems.
