Job summary

Advance TRS in Birmingham is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to join the Delivery group and lead UK water engineering projects as a technical specialist and project leader. You will develop and apply advanced design techniques, prepare calculations and deliver civil outputs (models, drawings, reports) within time and budget, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in design and build, non-infrastructure water/wastewater projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams (civil, structural, geotechnical, hydraulics).
• Strong interpersonal skills to interface across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on design guides, standards, systems, and engineering codes.
• Prepare calculations and develop civil engineering deliverables (models, drawings, reports) within budget, schedule, and quality standards.
• Mentor and develop junior staff while promoting continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams on complex projects.
• Develop recommendations for materials, construction techniques, and project specifications.
• Serve as a technical specialist providing advice and guidance to project teams.
• Ensure compliance with all health & safety duties of designers.
