Job summary

Caritas Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced social work professional to join a children’s safeguarding team as an Assistant Team Manager. You will support the Team Manager in delivering high-quality, child-centred services that protect children and promote their welfare.

The role involves providing visible leadership to social workers, ensuring timely assessments and interventions within statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• Recognised Social Work qualification and current HCPC registration.
• Substantial post-qualification experience in children’s social care.
• Experience supervising or supporting social workers and managing risk.
• Solid understanding of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible and supportive leadership to social workers.
• Oversee assessments, plans and interventions to ensure statutory timescales.
• Deliver regular supervision, reflective practice and professional guidance.
• Assist with caseload allocation, monitoring and quality assurance activities.
• Contribute to service development, audits, training and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with schools, health, police and other partners to coordinate responses.
