Job summary

Careermakers Recruitment is seeking a Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home in Hyde. You will oversee daily operations, ensure safeguarding and regulatory compliance, and drive service development with a dedicated team.

The role requires strong management experience in a children’s residential setting, familiarity with Ofsted rules, and a commitment to delivering safe, person-centred support for young people. 40-hour week, permanent contract, £53k–£62k.

Qualifications

• Experience in a children's residential setting.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes Regulations.
• Experience leading residential care teams.
• Proven ability in care planning, risk assessment and behaviour support.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the effective management and smooth running of the home.
• Lead, supervise and develop the residential care team.
• Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, relevant legislation and internal policies.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child protection.
• Oversee the development, implementation and review of individual care plans and risk assessments.
• Ensure effective approaches are in place to support challenging behaviour and emotional needs.
• Manage staffing levels, rotas, supervision and performance.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure high standards of quality assurance.
• Work collaboratively with social workers, families, education providers, health professionals and other external agencies.
• Support the recruitment, training and ongoing development of staff.
• Promote positive outcomes, independence and wellbeing for children and young people.
• Drive continuous improvement across the service.
