Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a Lead Child Protection Practitioner in Gloucestershire, UK. You will lead safeguarding and child protection work, oversee complex cases and guide other professionals with expert knowledge.

The role requires a Social Work degree, SWE registration, and substantial post-qualification experience in statutory children's services. Excellent leadership, coaching and mentoring skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Current registration with Social Work England.
• Continuing professional development in safeguarding and child protection practice.
• Advanced training in child protection or safeguarding leadership is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee complex child protection cases, providing expert safeguarding advice, guidance, and decision-making.
• Chair statutory safeguarding meetings, strategy discussions, and child protection planning meetings as required.
• Oversee Section 47 enquiries, ensuring timely and proportionate responses to safeguarding concerns.
• Provide practice leadership, coaching, and mentoring to social workers and practitioners across Children’s Services.
