Job summary

Eden Brown Synergy is seeking an experienced Lead Child Protection Practitioner to join our Gloucestershire teams. The role is a 3-month contract with hybrid working and a rate of £47 per hour, 37 hours per week. You will supervise complex child protection work and lead meetings with partner agencies to safeguard children.

The post requires substantial post-qualifying experience in child protection and Social Work England registration, with the ability to drive and reside in the UK.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Lead Child Protection Practitioner to join our teams based in Gloucestershire. This is an exciting opportunity with excellent rates of pay £47ph. 37 hours a week. 3 month contract but with the opportunity to extend. Flexible hybrid working arrangements.

We are seeking an experienced social worker with substantial post-qualifying experience in child protection and the capability to meet the national Lead Child Protection Practitioner Standards.

As a Lead Child Protection Practitioner, they will provide decisive leadership in critical moments for children, oversee complex child protection work, model excellent practice and support colleagues to strengthen confidence, professional curiosity and critical thinking.

Working within Multi-Agency Child Protection Teams, they will strengthen partnership working with health, education, police and other agencies to ensure children receive timely help and protection.

The role includes providing consultation, chairing key child protection meetings, overseeing section 47 enquiries and ensuring assessment, planning and decisions are grounded in strong analysis, risk and evidence of harm.

They will lead reflective supervision, practice development, quality assurance and service improvement, contributing to a culture of learning, innovation and continuous improvement.

They will work directly with children, families and professional networks to support understanding, meaningful participation and sustained change.

Hybrid working arrangements are available giving teams the opportunity to work in a way that suits them, balancing service need and individual choice, with a mix of both remote and office working.

The expectation for this role is that workers will be Gloucestershire based for most of the week.

You will be Social Work England registered, ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK.
