We are seeking an experienced social worker with substantial post-qualifying experience in child protection and the capability to meet the national Lead Child Protection Practitioner Standards.
As a Lead Child Protection Practitioner, they will provide decisive leadership in critical moments for children, oversee complex child protection work, model excellent practice and support colleagues to strengthen confidence, professional curiosity and critical thinking.
Working within Multi-Agency Child Protection Teams, they will strengthen partnership working with health, education, police and other agencies to ensure children receive timely help and protection.
The role includes providing consultation, chairing key child protection meetings, overseeing section 47 enquiries and ensuring assessment, planning and decisions are grounded in strong analysis, risk and evidence of harm.
They will lead reflective supervision, practice development, quality assurance and service improvement, contributing to a culture of learning, innovation and continuous improvement.
They will work directly with children, families and professional networks to support understanding, meaningful participation and sustained change.
Hybrid working arrangements are available giving teams the opportunity to work in a way that suits them, balancing service need and individual choice, with a mix of both remote and office working.
The expectation for this role is that workers will be Gloucestershire based for most of the week.
You will be Social Work England registered, ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK.
