Job summary

The role requires a degree-level nursing qualification, current registration, and strong leadership to supervise the ward, manage daily operations and develop staff.

Qualifications

• Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma).
• Registered nurse on appropriate part of the register.
• Significant post registration experience in a relevant specialty.
• Ward management experience.
• Knowledge of current issues within acute Health Service and acute hospital settings.
• Evidence of supporting/managing learners in practice.
• Evidence of supporting colleagues to promote learning in practice.
• Clinical decision making and judgement.
• Commitment to the post and Care Group responsibilities.
• Commitment to continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Promote delivery of high standard, patient-centred care.
• Analyse, monitor and implement actions to ensure safe, effective service delivery.
• Daily operational management and service delivery within the department.
• Line management and development of the nursing team.
• Ensure smooth running of the unit with a focus on patient safety and quality assurance.
