Job summary

Virgin Atlantic is seeking a Certifying Engineer within Cabin Maintenance at Heathrow. You will lead small teams, certify maintenance activities in line with CAA rules and Virgin Atlantic procedures, and liaise between Technical Control and operations to ensure on-time performance and high safety standards.

The role requires a B1.1 licence, at least one type rating (A330/A350/B787), and solid aviation maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid B1.1 CAA Licence - essential.
• Must hold at least 1 type rating for A330, A350, or B787.
• Light and/or heavy maintenance experience in aviation preferred.
• Completed an Aircraft Maintenance Apprenticeship or equivalent aviation experience.
• Demonstrate recent Aeronautical Engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of airworthiness standards and regulatory compliance.
• Capable of supervising small teams and driving accountability.
• Clear, professional communication across technical and operational stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of engineering IT systems.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Certify cabin maintenance tasks in line with CAA regulations and Virgin Atlantic procedures.
• Lead and supervise small teams to deliver safe, timely maintenance.
• Act as focal communication point between team, Technical Control and stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate task certification and proper technical records in e-MRO and systems.
• Maintain safe, reliable aircraft to support on-time performance and standards.
• Promote efficient practices and contribute to CMS briefings and updates.
• Support performance management and development conversations within the team.
• Foster a strong safety culture with adherence to engineering and airport regs.
