Job summary

Virgin Atlantic Airways is seeking a Certifying Engineer (B1) to join our Engineering team at Heathrow. This is a hands-on, leadership role delivering safe, compliant maintenance while guiding small teams and coordinating with Technical Control and third‑party suppliers.

You will hold a CAA Part 66 B1 licence, have approvals on widebody types (A330/A350/787 RR Trent), and bring recent aeronautical maintenance experience. A UK driving licence is also required.

Qualifications

• CAA Part 66 B1 Aircraft Maintenance Licence required.
• Approval to certify maintenance on widebody types: A330, A350 or 787 RR Trent.
• Experience leading small maintenance teams and coordinating with Technical Control.
• Recent hands-on aeronautical engineering or aircraft maintenance experience.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out allocated aircraft maintenance tasks in a safe, compliant manner and certify work per regulatory requirements.
• Lead and supervise small maintenance teams to ensure safety, reliability and on-time performance.
• Act as focal point between maintenance team, Technical Control and third‑party suppliers.
• Ensure accurate certification of maintenance tasks and documentation.
• Drive compliance with Engineering safety, EASA regulations and company procedures.
