Job summary

Elysia Battery Intelligence in Kidlington, Oxford, is hiring a Technical Specialist, Cell Modelling. The role combines hands-on modelling with technical leadership across a five-strong team, delivering ECM/ECN models and translating data into robust engineering models for live customer programmes.

You will guide modelling standards, work with SoC/SoH data, ageing and degradation, and maintain direct collaboration with customers and internal teams to ensure high-quality delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in lithium-ion cell modelling in an engineering or tech environment.
• Hands-on experience developing ECM, ECN, or other reduced-order models.
• Experience taking battery models from development to use in customer projects.
• Strong understanding of SoC, SoH, ageing and degradation.
• Experience leading technical delivery, projects or engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead cell modelling delivery across multiple customer programmes and projects.
• Lead, support and develop a specialist team of five cell modelling engineers.
• Develop reduced-order battery models, including ECMs and ECNs.
• Translate laboratory and real-world data into robust engineering models.
• Work with characterisation data to support modelling of SoC, SoH, ageing and degradation.
• Manage competing technical priorities across live customer programmes.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to deliver modelling solutions.
• Provide technical direction and ensure modelling meets quality standards.
• Support development of modelling methodologies and technical standards.
• Remain hands-on with modelling work while owning wider project delivery.
