Job description

Location:Thornfield Care Home,Seaton,South West England,EX12 2ST

Lead with heart, care with purpose! Be the difference every day!

If you're someone who leads by example and finds fulfilment in helping others grow and thrive, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for. At Thornfield Care Home, nestled on the edge of the beautiful seaside town of Seaton along the world-famous Jurassic Coast, we’re looking for a Lead Care Assistant who can bring warmth, confidence, and clarity to every shift.

This is your chance to step into a meaningful leadership role where people come first — residents and colleagues alike.

What’s we offer:

  • £14.60 per hour
  • Flexible Full-Time or Part-Time contract
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on full-time)
  • Paid DBS
  • Uniform provided
  • Free onsite parking

*Ongoing development from a supportive management team.

Why this role matters:
As Lead Care Assistant, you’ll be the go-to person on shift — guiding, supporting, and motivating your team while ensuring our residents receive care that’s not only clinically sound but full of compassion and dignity.
Whether you're planning individualised care, managing medications, or simply making sure a resident starts the day with a smile, you’ll help create a home where everyone feels safe, valued, and respected.

What you’ll be doing:
You’ll be joining a warm, experienced team in a home that supports up to 52 residents. Here, every shift is an opportunity to make life brighter not just for the people we care for, but for the colleagues you guide along the way.

As a Lead Care Assistant, you’ll take ownership of your shift, supporting and inspiring your team to deliver thoughtful, person-centred care. Whether you’re helping someone start their morning with dignity, reviewing a care plan to meet evolving needs, or offering reassurance and direction to a junior colleague your presence will make a difference.

You’ll be the kind of person who keeps a cool head under pressure, who understands the importance of routine but also knows when to pause, listen, and adapt. You’ll bring experience, ideally in supporting people living with dementia, and you'll be confident in administering medication and understanding the bigger picture of each resident’s wellbeing. An NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care is essential, but what really matters is your ability to lead with compassion and clarity.

A home where you’ll feel valued:
Thornfield Care Home is part of Care Concern Group, a family-run care provider with over 100 homes across the UK. We believe in delivering care to the highest standard, and our five core values guide everything we do:

Trust | Respect | Passion | Kindness | Inclusivity

These values define who we are and underpin everything we do, from the smallest interaction to the most complex care. If you live by these principles, this is a place where you can belong and truly make a difference.

If you’re ready to take the next step in your care career and lead with purpose, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now and help us build something extraordinary, one resident and one team member at a time.
