Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust in Stevenage is recruiting a Chief Cardiac Physiologist to lead our Cardiac Physiology team at Lister Hospital.

The post involves mentoring colleagues, delivering high-quality diagnostic testing, and managing invasive cardiology services including PCI procedures and device implants, with on-call duties.

Qualifications

• BSc Clinical Physiology or Health Prof registration or recognised precursor.
• Postgraduate profession related qualification e.g. IHBRE or HRUK/BSE.
• Substantial post qualification experience within cardiology.
• Member of Heart Rhythm Society UK/BSE.
• RCCP registered ILS.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing and supporting a busy pacing clinic with ~300 face-to-face appointments and 1,000 remote follow-ups monthly.
• Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to perform 700 PCI procedures and 250 Primary PCI procedures annually.
• Supporting the implantation of around 300 devices each year.
• Mentoring and guiding colleagues to ensure high standards of care.
