Job summary

Wolverhampton Homes is seeking a Building Surveyor to provide technical leadership across asset management. You will lead our Property Inspectorate Team, deliver strategic asset planning, and manage complex building issues to inform investment decisions for thousands of homes.

You will oversee planned maintenance, review major project proposals, and ensure compliance with building safety and housing regulations while collaborating with residents, contractors and internal teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Qualified Building Surveyor or experienced construction professional.
• Experience managing housing assets, planned maintenance programmes or capital projects.
• Ability to investigate complex building defects and provide cost-effective solutions.
• Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders and drive service improvement.

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing our Property Inspectorate Team.
• Delivering strategic asset planning and investment recommendations.
• Managing complex building pathology, structural and compliance issues.
• Producing option appraisals and technical reports to inform investment decisions.
• Overseeing planned maintenance and refurbishment projects.
• Reviewing designs, specifications and construction proposals for major projects.
• Supporting compliance with building safety, housing and health and safety legislation.
• Working with customers, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes for residents.
