Job summary

Andy File Associates Ltd is recruiting a Hands-On Cleaning Supervisor to support a major build-clean project in Leeds. You will lead a cleaning team, supervise daily tasks, and report progress to the Operations Manager while remaining hands-on with cleaning duties.

The role requires previous commercial/build cleaning or supervisory experience, strong organisational skills, and a proactive, safety-aware approach in a busy construction environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial/build cleaning or similar environment.
• Supervisory or team-leading experience.
• Hands-on approach and daily cleaning with the team.
• Ability to organise and motivate a team effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and work pride.
• Confident communicating with site management and attending meetings.
• Organised and capable of completing paperwork and reporting.
• Reliable, hardworking and punctual.
• Solid understanding of construction-site health and safety.
• Holds a Green CSCS Card and SSSTS certificate.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on cleaning as part of the team to a high standard.
• Supervise and coordinate the cleaning team and allocate daily tasks.
• Attend daily meetings to receive schedules and updates.
• Communicate site information to the cleaning team.
• Perform walkabouts and checks to maintain standards.
• Complete daily/weekly paperwork for the Operations Manager.
• Photograph completed work and report progress.
• Monitor progress against schedule and meet deadlines.
• Liaise with site management and other contractors as needed.
• Ensure equipment and materials are used safely and stock levels are reported.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional working environment.
• Follow health & safety procedures and lead by example.
