Job summary

Christy Media Solutions is recruiting an experienced Lead Broadcast Engineer to join our client, playing a central role in the engineering and delivery of their broadcast operations for a key client.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role requiring deep broadcast technical expertise, particularly around SMPTE ST 2110 fault-finding and troubleshooting, alongside the ability to communicate clearly in a pressured live environment.

Qualifications

• Proven broadcast engineering background with leadership experience.
• Experience in live television environments and high-pressure situations.
• Strong knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110 fault-finding and troubleshooting.
• Experience managing technical teams during live events.
• Familiarity with transmission systems and closed captions.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the smooth running and technical quality of live operations.
• Take engineering ownership of live feeds through technical facilities.
• Act as a technical point of reference for clients.
• Identify technical issues and develop appropriate solutions.
• Work closely with engineering and operational teams to support clients before, during and after events.
• Manage Live Event Supervisors, MCR operators and Transmission operators during live operations.
• Ensure appropriate staffing and technical knowledge for live events.
• Produce incident reports and communicate technical and operational issues.
• Document technical and operational procedures.
• Recommend improvements to technical workflows and service-delivery strategies.
