Job summary

Atlas Copco UK is seeking a Technical Project Engineer to lead bid management for compressed air pipework installations, taking ownership from inquiry to submission with accurate, competitive tenders. You'll interpret drawings, prepare BOMs and cost estimates, and coordinate site surveys across the UK.

You will collaborate with contractors and suppliers, negotiate terms, and ensure profitable proposals while supporting hybrid working between customer sites and Brigehouse/Sheffield branches.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience estimating mechanical piping systems.
• Proven track record in compressed air, fluid power, or industrial gas installations.
• Ability to read and interpret construction and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end pricing for tenders, including BOMs and labor estimates.
• Review inquiry documents to define client requirements and scope.
• Prepare financial tenders and technical proposals detailing full scope of work.
• Present cost estimates and profit forecast to line manager for sign-off.
• Conduct on-site surveys to assess feasibility and risks.
• Seek competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Negotiate pricing terms to maximise margins while staying competitive.
• Handover successful bids to PPS project delivery team.
