Job summary

Greggs is seeking a Senior Azure Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will build and optimize data pipelines on the Azure cloud using Databricks, Data Factory and Delta Lake, delivering scalable solutions for analytics and AI initiatives.

You will mentor colleagues, design data models, and partner with data scientists and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality data products and compliant practices.

Qualifications

• Requires deep knowledge of cloud data platforms and design of scalable data pipelines.
• Experience with Azure-based data services and Databricks in a data-driven environment.
• Ability to mentor teammates and collaborate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support team members to foster a collaborative environment.
• Develop data ingestion solutions on the Azure platform for scalable data workflows.
• Design and maintain robust ETL/ELT processes for diverse data sources.
• Implement DataOps practices to streamline data lifecycle and improve delivery.
• Design and manage CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
• Ensure data quality, security and compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts and business stakeholders to address needs.
• Stay current with Azure ecosystem trends to drive continuous improvement.
