Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Lead AV Engineer to supervise on-site installation of audio visual systems for commercial and public sector clients. The role involves leading contractors, coordinating with the client and operations teams, and ensuring neat, properly labelled cabling and racks.

Based in Reading, the position offers a salary of £30,000 - £40,000 plus bonuses and various benefits. Night shift and quarterly bonuses are available, with the potential for overtime and a company van.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience installing AV systems in commercial/public sector environments.
• Experience with Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Poly or Cisco is highly beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of HDBaseT and AVoIP.
• Willing to work evenings when required.
• Clean DBS check required.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site installation teams and coordinate contractors.
• Act as the point of contact on site for client queries and liaise with operations.
• Assemble AV racks with labelled, tidy cabling and wiring.
• Perform 1st and 2nd fix for sound, video, and AV controls.
• Conduct site surveys and pre-commissioning including firmware updates.
• Travel or stay away from home as required.
• Adhere to health and safety policies on site.
• Commissioning of DSPs and control systems (bonus).

Position Overview:

Lead the installation of audio visual solutions for commercial and public sector clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading teams of contractors on site.
• Acting as the point of contact on site for any client queries.
• Maintain contact with the operations team regarding any progress or issues that may occur on site.
• Assembly of AV racks ensuring all cabling is labelled and structured in a tidy manner.
• 1st and 2nd fix installation of sound systems, video equipment and AV related controls.
• Conduct site surveys.
• Pre-commissioning carrying out firmware updates prepping equipment for final stage commissioning.
• Working away from home where required.
• Adhere to health and safety policies.
• (Bonus) Commissioning of audio DSPs and control systems.

Requirements:

• 3+ years experience installing AV systems within a commercial or public sector environment.
• Experience with systems such as Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Poly, Cisco would be highly beneficial. Any commissioning / configuration experience would be highly beneficial.
• Good understanding of HDBase T and AVoIP.
• Willing to work evenings where required.
• A clean criminal record with the ability to pass an advanced DBS check.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
