Job summary

Enterprise Mobility is seeking a Lead Automotive Technician/Mechanic to head our Flex-E-Rent team in Oldbury. You will supervise technicians, drive workshop productivity, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering in motor vehicle maintenance or equivalent.
• Proven supervisory experience preferred.
• Full UK Driving Licence (Cat C) required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain workshop productivity to Enterprise Flex-E-Rent standards.
• Supervise technicians, ensuring appraisals, training, and safety checks are completed.
• Manage staff attendance, holiday scheduling, and overtime authorisation.
• Ensure workshop activities comply with Health & Safety and COSHH requirements.
• Achieve Competent Person status for yourself and the team with appropriate training.
• Oversee servicing, diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and MOT preparation for safety and compliance.
• Oversee on-site customer servicing or repairs and ensure accurate documentation.
• Monitor stock levels with the parts supervisor and manage deliveries/returns.

Responsibilities

WhatYou’llBe Doing:

• Maintain workshop productivity to meet Enterprise Flex-E-Rent standards, including strong coordination with Fleet Control.
• Supervise technicians, ensuring appraisals, training, competent person assessments, and internal quality assurance are completed.
• Manage staff attendance, holiday scheduling, and overtime authorisation.
• Ensure all workshop activities comply with Health & Safety, environmental policies, risk assessments, SSOW, manual handling and COSHH requirements.
• Achieve and uphold Competent Person status for yourself and the team, arranging required training via the Fleet Services Engineer.
• Oversee and quality assure high-quality servicing, diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance, and MOT preparation to ensure legislative compliance and vehicle safety.
• Oversee on‑site customer servicing or repairs when required, ensuring accurate completion of all related documentation.
• Monitor and manage stock levels with the parts supervisor, ensuring all deliveries and returns follow company procedures.

Qualifications

WhatWe’reLooking For:

• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering in motor vehicle maintenance or equivalent
• Previous supervisory experience preferred
• Full UK Driving Licence (Cat C)
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach and a passion for vehicle maintenance
• Ability to pass a security check (criminality, financial, and employment references)
