Job summary

Join the Information Commission's Assurance team as a Lead Auditor, leading audits across sectors to identify risks, evaluate compliance and deliver practical recommendations that drive improvements.

This hybrid role is based in Manchester, with flexible home and office working and occasional travel; the ICO offers a pay progression scheme, generous holiday, pension contributions and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a role ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
• Ability to apply complex legislation to practical circumstances.
• Analytical ability to identify improvements and differentiate good vs. bad practice.
• Knowledge of IT use in managing and securing personal data.
• Experience in coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage audits across organisations to assess information rights compliance.
• Identify risks and provide prioritised, actionable recommendations.
• Engage with stakeholders to plan, deliver and report audit outcomes.
• Develop audit materials and methodologies under guidance of line managers.
• Represent the ICO at events and ensure timely follow-up on actions.
